About Lowcountry Premier Fly Fishing
Captain Peter Lawson-Johnston
Capt. Peter Lawson-Johnston is the owner and operator of Lowcountry Premier Fly Fishing.
I started fly fishing with my father at the age of 8 and never looked back. Each summer was spent chasing striped bass, bonito, bluefish, and false albacore in the New England area. Over the years, I have traveled across the globe and developed a deep passion for bonefishing in the Caribbean, striper/albie fishing in New England, and tarpon fishing in the Florida Keys. After high school, I went to the College of Charleston in South Carolina where I was introduced to redfish. I took every chance I could to go explore the marshes of the lowcountry and learn as much as possible about sight fishing redfish on fly.
After graduating college, I worked a short time in real estate before working at a media startup for two years. I decided to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a professional fly fishing guide in 2017. I am a US Coast Guard licensed captain, fully insured, one of the only Orvis Endorsed Guides in the area.
